The extension of the shocks from neighboring Syria and its scale of confrontation in political, civil and religious dimensions, poses a serious threat to the stability, peace and security of all Lebanese citizens, in fact already being seriously compromised. The Club de Madrid is calling for unity and peace throughout the Lebanese society. It is imperative that Lebanon does not again become a collision zone between different conceptions or a place where regional conflicts tear the country apart again. Ultimately, Lebanon should not have to pay for the intransigence and violence that seeks to divide the country.
