Club de Madrid supports The Philippines and calls to act against climate change

Club de Madrid has kept a close watch on the natural disasters that have struck the Philippines in recent years, including; Tropical Storm Sendong, the Paul and Zoraida typhoons, and the earthquake that hit the country last month. History has proven the Philippines to be the second most vulnerable country in the world to natural disasters. Club de Madrid supports a new appeal that can help to decrease these repetitious disasters that cause pain, distress, death, and essentially the cruel and unjust punishment that takes advantage of the weak.

The appeal to curb climate change was presented by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Climate Change, Christiana Figueres. Heeding to her call for this appeal has the potential to save future lives. It simply takes acknowledgment and participation to make it happen, and to eventually end the vulnerability of natural disasters.
