Miriam Císcar es licenciada en Economía y cuenta con dos másteres, uno en Estudios de Género y otro en Cooperación Internacional al Desarrollo y Ayuda Humanitaria, ámbito en el que ha desarrollado su trayectoria profesional durante más de 20 años. A lo largo de su carrera ha trabajado con una amplia variedad de organizaciones e instituciones, entre ellas ONG internacionales, agencias de las Naciones Unidas, consultoras privadas, universidades y la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID). Ha vivido y trabajado en más de diez países. Entre sus responsabilidades más destacadas figura su labor en Naciones Unidas como coordinadora humanitaria y especialista en prevención y respuesta frente a la violencia de género en emergencias humanitarias, incluyendo su intervención tras el tifón Haiyan en Filipinas y en conflictos armados en países como Myanmar. Desde 2014 es profesora asociada del Máster en Derecho y Violencia de Género de la Universidad de Valencia. Se incorporó a la AECID en 2019 y actualmente ocupa el cargo de subdirectora de Cooperación Feminista, Desarrollo Humano y Económico y Gobernanza.


Miriam Císcar holds a dual degree in Economics, as well as a master’s degree in Gender Studies and in International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance, a field in which she has worked for more than 20 years. Throughout her career, she has worked with a wide range of organizations and institutions, including international NGOs, United Nations agencies, private consulting firms, universities, and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). She has lived and worked in more than ten countries. Among her most notable roles was her work with the United Nations as a Humanitarian Coordinator and specialist in the prevention of and response to gender-based violence in humanitarian emergencies, including following Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and in armed conflicts in countries such as Myanmar. Since 2014, she has served as an Associate Professor in the Master’s Programme in Law and the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence at the University of Valencia. She joined AECID in 2019 and currently serves as Deputy Director for Feminist Cooperation, Human and Economic Development, and Governance.
