Es psicóloga por la Universidad Andrés Bello y cuenta con un máster en Economía y Gestión Regional por la Universidad Austral y otro en Estudios Latinoamericanos por la Universidad de Georgetown. Inició su trayectoria en la Administración pública en el Servicio Nacional de la Mujer (SERNAM) de la región de Los Lagos. Posteriormente fue secretaria regional ministerial (SEREMI) de Trabajo y Previsión Social. Más tarde trabajó en la Fundación Dialoga y desempeñó el cargo de asesora de programas para América Latina y el Caribe en ONU Mujeres. Entre 2016 y 2018 fue jefa de Gabinete durante el segundo mandato de la presidenta Michelle Bachelet y ministra secretaria general de Gobierno. Posteriormente trabajó como asesora sénior sobre participación política de las mujeres para América Latina y el Caribe en ONU Mujeres y también fue representante de la organización en Guatemala, entre otros cargos. En 2022 fue nombrada representante permanente de Chile ante las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York. Durante un año, hasta julio de 2024, ejerció la Presidencia del Consejo Económico y Social de las Naciones Unidas (ECOSOC). A lo largo de su carrera ha demostrado un firme compromiso con los derechos humanos, los derechos de las mujeres y el desarrollo sostenible.


She is a psychologist from Universidad Andrés Bello and holds master’s degrees in Regional Economics and Management from Universidad Austral and in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University. She began her career in public administration at Chile’s National Women’s Service (SERNAM) in the Los Lagos region. She later served as Regional Ministerial Secretary (SEREMI) of Labour and Social Security. She subsequently worked at Fundación Dialoga and served as a programme advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean at UN Women. Between 2016 and 2018, she was Chief of Staff to President Michelle Bachelet’s second administration and Minister-Secretary General of Government. She later worked as a senior advisor on women’s political participation for Latin America and the Caribbean at UN Women and also served as its Representative in Guatemala, among other positions. In 2022, she was appointed as Chile’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. She served as President of the Economic and Social Council for one year, until July 2024. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to human rights, women’s rights, and sustainable development.
