During his time in government, including his previous role as Minister of Economy and Finance, Maleiane led significant governance reforms and oversaw Mozambique’s economic and social development strategy. With more than four decades of experience in the banking and financial sector —including as Governor of the Central Bank of Mozambique— he played a key role in modernising the country’s financial system.
His career combines public service, economic leadership and academic contributions, reflecting a strong commitment to inclusive development and sound public governance.
