Secretaria de Estado de Igualdad y para la Erradicación de la Violencia contra las Mujeres | Secretary of State for Equality and the Eradication of Violence against Women
Periodista y política española, diputada por Vizcaya en el Congreso de los Diputados desde 2019, donde fue portavoz del Grupo Socialista en las comisiones de Cooperación Internacional e Igualdad. Es licenciada en Ciencias de la Información por la Universidad del País Vasco, con máster en Ayuda Internacional Humanitaria y posgrado en Protocolo y Relaciones Públicas. Fue directora general de Igualdad, Cooperación y Diversidad de la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia hasta 2019, y participó en la elaboración de la Ley de Paridad y en la renovación del Pacto de Estado contra la Violencia de Género. Desde junio de 2025 es secretaria de Estado de Igualdad y para la Erradicación de la Violencia contra las Mujeres del Gobierno de España. Sus líneas de trabajo son la igualdad de género, la erradicación de la violencia machista y los derechos de las mujeres.
She is a Spanish journalist and politician who has served as a Member of the Spanish Congress of Deputies representing Biscay (Bizkaia) since 2019, where she was the Socialist Parliamentary Group’s spokesperson on the International Cooperation and Equality committees. She holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country, a Master’s degree in International Humanitarian Aid, and a postgraduate qualification in Protocol and Public Relations. Until 2019, she served as Director General for Equality, Cooperation, and Diversity at the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. She contributed to the drafting of Spain’s Parity Law and to the renewal of the State Pact against Gender-Based Violence. Since June 2025, she has served as Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women in the Government of Spain. Her areas of work include gender equality, the eradication of violence against women, and women’s rights.
