Club de Madrid, in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) and JCI Namibia, participated in two key events in Windhoek on 28 November 2025 as part of Namibia’s Ethical Use of Social Media Campaign. The initiative aimed at promoting responsible online communication, safeguarding democratic values, and protecting women and youth from online harassment, disinformation, and other digital harms that threaten their participation in public life.
Club de Madrid was represented by our Member and President Elect (January 2026) Laura Chinchilla (video – message) and three members of WYDE Network: Seun Fakorede, Joanah Mamombe, and Yvonne Wamucci.

Influencer Sundowner – Ethical Use of Social Media Campaign
28 November 2025
This networking event engaged Namibian social media influencers on responsible digital practices and the social impact of online narratives. Participants reflected on ethical influence, exchanged ideas with policymakers and youth leaders, and signed a public pledge committing to responsible online behaviour.
Throughout the mission, partners also took part in several national media appearances to highlight the campaign’s goals and reinforce key messages on ethical digital engagement.
Club de Madrid, MICT, and JCI Namibia will continue working together to advance digital safety, youth engagement, and a more inclusive online ecosystem in Namibia.
