Economista por la UNAM. En la década de los noventa participó en la constitución de organizaciones civiles que se propusieron aumentar la participación política de las mujeres. En 2001 presidió el partido México Posible y para 2006 compitió en la elección a la Presidencia de la República por el partido Alternativa Socialdemócrata y Campesina, en la cual obtuvo 1.1 millones de votos. En 2014 incursionó en el servicio público como Secretaria de Trabajo y Fomento al Empleo de la Ciudad de México. Un año y medio después, fue designada Secretaria de Gobierno, responsabilidad que tuvo por dos años y medio. De 2018 a 2024 fue Senadora de la República Mexicana por Movimiento Ciudadano, donde presidió la Comisión de Zonas Metropolitanas y Movilidad, y fue secretaria de la Comisión de Trabajo y Previsión Social. Actualmente es Diputada Federal por Movimiento Ciudadano, Presidenta de la Comisión de Movilidad y Secretaria de la Comisión de Trabajo y Previsión Social.


She holds a degree in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). During the 1990s, she helped establish civil society organizations dedicated to increasing women’s political participation. In 2001, she became President of the México Posible political party. In 2006, she ran for President of Mexico as the candidate of the Social Democratic and Peasant Alternative Party, receiving 1.1 million votes. In 2014, she entered public service as Secretary of Labor and Employment Promotion for Mexico City. Eighteen months later, she was appointed Secretary of Government of Mexico City, a position she held for two and a half years. From 2018 to 2024, she served as a Senator of the Republic representing Movimiento Ciudadano, where she chaired the Committee on Metropolitan Areas and Mobility and served as Secretary of the Committee on Labor and Social Welfare. She currently serves as a Federal Deputy representing Movimiento Ciudadano, Chair of the Committee on Mobility, and Secretary of the Committee on Labor and Social Welfare.
