Shared Societies in Georgia

The present government wants to demonstrate its good will towards the Abkhaz and South Ossetians but their suspicions continue to be very deep and the situation is also complicated by the presence of Russian troops in the entities. He also spoke at a public discussion on the Scottish Referendum on independence and the lessons that Georgia might take from it on relating to minorities who seek separation. Georgia still faces many challenges in relation to building a shared society for all ethnic and religious groups and the ongoing conflicts in relation to South Ossetia and Georgia do not make it any easier to find the right way forward.
