Ex Congresista de la República de Costa Rica (2022–2026), actual Presidenta de la Provincia de San José del Frente Amplio y economista de profesión. Bachiller en Economía por la Universidad de Costa Rica y Máster en Política Económica por la Universidad Nacional, con mención por excelencia académica. Ha sido asesora de la Fundación Friedrich Ebert (FES), la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL), el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) y la Organización Internacional del Trabajo, así como asesora económica de la Asamblea Legislativa de Costa Rica. En julio de 2019 recibió el reconocimiento a la Mujer Latinoamericana de la Unión Global por la Democracia por su labor en materia de equidad económica. En 2024 fue nombrada la mujer más influyente de Costa Rica por la Revista Petra. Su enfoque profesional incluye experiencia en política fiscal, economía con enfoque de género y sustentabilidad.
She is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica (2022–2026), currently serves as President of the San José Provincial Committee of the Broad Front (Frente Amplio), and is an economist by profession. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s degree in Economic Policy from the National University, graduating with academic honors for excellence. Throughout her career, she has served as an advisor to the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). She has also worked as an economic advisor to the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. In July 2019, she received the Latin American Woman Award from the Global Union for Democracy in recognition of her work promoting economic equity. In 2024, Petra magazine named her the Most Influential Woman in Costa Rica. Her professional expertise includes fiscal policy, gender-responsive economics, and sustainable development.
