The Members of the Club de Madrid jointly send congratulations for this honor to one of the most successful projects in history of economic, social-policy, and civic cohesion, in spite of difficulties.
This Nobel Peace Prize is, in addition to recognition for what has been achieved in the past, incentive to keep in mind the work to be done in the future. The challenges faced by democracy and peace remain present. Since its foundation in 2001, the Club de Madrid has collaborated with the EU in facing various challenges, and reiterates in the wave of this recognition its commitment to the values it shares with the European Union. It is a constant and daily job to ensure that democracy, peace, liberty and human rights are the system and principles shared by an increasing number of people around the world.
