In early June, a delegation from the WYDE Network embarked on a mission to Germany in collaboration with the Liz Mohn Center. The program comprised a series of meetings and activities with German political, business and civil society leaders centred on youth political participation. Seven young WYDE leaders from different regions, discussed global issues and youth involvement with representatives from the German government and young politicians.
The visit highlight was a dinner with Liz Mohn, which President Türk and SG Agüero also attended. Ms. Mohn delivered a compelling speech, addressing pivotal topics such as rebuilding trust in our turbulent world, the persistent impact of climate change on our habitats, and the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in our lives. Ms. Mohn commended the WYDE leaders for their efforts in enhancing youth participation in their respective nations, highlighting the importance of taking young people seriously. She expressed delight in hosting the delegation and eagerly listened to their insights on addressing the concerns of young people in their countries.
