In an agile debate, experts, journalists and diplomats discussed regional security issues, such as the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict brokered by the OSCE Minsk group (co-chaired by the US, Russia and France) and the normalisation process between Armenia and Turkey, as well as the wider context of Armenia’s European integration efforts.
Edward Nalbandian is Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia since April 2008. An Armenian diplomat, he has been Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt, Morocco and Oman; France; Israel; the Vatican City; and Andorra. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR National Academy of Sciences, and has won several awards, including the USSR award of Friendship of Nations; the Commander of the Legion of Honour of the French Republic; the Armenian Medal of Mkhitar Gosh; and the Decoration of the Grand Cross of Saint Gregory of the Holy See.
