The three former democratic leaders were unanimously elected to the Board during Club de Madrid’s 25th General Assembly, held on 22 June, succeeding Joyce Banda, Yves Leterme, and Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga.
Club de Madrid convened global leaders to address two urgent challenges: rising wealth inequality and the need to rethink democracy support. The message was clear — protecting democracy requires bold reforms, stronger cooperation, and new cross-sector alliances.
