President Banda was a deeply respected Member of Club de Madrid and an exceptionally prominent and inspiring leader in African and international affairs whose unrelenting belief in democratic values and peace made him a truly global leader. He was part of Zambia’s fight for independence. President Banda will be profoundly missed by all. At a time of democratic backsliding and global uncertainty, President Banda’s legacy is more important than ever.
Many of us had the privilege to work with him over the years. His work and legacy as an invaluable Member of the Club de Madrid family, our mission and organisation will always be with us.
