Club de Madrid urges Azerbaijan to comply with Nagorno-Karabakh agreements and allow safe passage of humanitarian aid

Club de Madrid expresses its deep  concern with the  critical humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. We urge the Azerbaijani authorities to adhere to the commitments of the ceasefire agreements of November 2020, lift the blockade that is resulting in severe shortages of food, medication and fuel in Nagorno-Karabagh and restore the unrestricted and secure movement of people, vehicles and goods in both directions via the Lachin corridor.

Humanitarian aid must never be politicised.

Club de Madrid fully supports all initiatives aimed at promoting peaceful and normalised relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Multilateralism and dialogue are the most effective means of resolving conflicts. The international community must remain committed to these in the pursuit of sustainable peace in the region.
