COP16 preparatory meeting with Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs and COP16 President

During the meeting, Minister Espinosa was informed about the work developed by the Global Leadership for Climate Action task force (GLCA) with the dissemination of its recommendations towards a post-2012 climate agreement. In this context, the Club de Madrid explored with Minister Espinosa the possibilities that the Club de Madrid members could offer to support the consecution of an international agreement or partial climate agreements. Minister Espinosa explained the latest news in regards to the climate negotiations and the contacts that, on the occasion of the UN General Assembly during those days were having, that could be strengthened by the Club de Madrid members in their respective countries and regions towards COP16 in Cancún.
