A delegation of 14 persons from the Nigerian National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies currently on a study mission in Spain organized a visit to the Club de Madrid last Wednesday 30 June. They were accompanied by H.E. Mr. Obeb Wadzani, Ambassador of Nigeria in Madrid, and Mr. Harold Koko, Head of Chancery. The 14 participants both from the private and public sector are currently undertaking a Senior Executive Course which focuses on the ‘The Imperative of Policy Sustainability for National Security and Democratic Stability.’
They were welcomed by María Elena Agüero, Deputy Secretary General, who briefed them on the history of the Club de Madrid, its Members and projects. Agustina Briano, Junior Program Officer, explained the current activities in our ‘Political Dimensions of the World Economic Crisis’ and ‘G20 Initiative’ projects. Carla Fernández-Duran and Margarite Diatta, from the Women, Peace and Security Project then presented the work of this initiative in the Great Horn of Africa as well as our previous work in Nigeria within the now-completed African Women Leadership Project. Both presentations were followed by a fruitful discussion and sharing of experiences and best practices.
Club de Madrid would like to thank the participants for their visit and attention, and wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
