Diego Gitano is Programme Officer at Club de Madrid. He is responsible for the design and implementation of projects to promote social inclusion of the most vulnerable groups and generate safe and prosperous shared societies.
Before joining Club de Madrid, he worked at Save The Children supporting the implementation of poverty, social exclusion, education, and youth participation programs. Previously, Diego managed NGO projects for the reception and inclusion of asylum seekers and refugees, designing and implementing social and integration activities. He also collaborated with the Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration of the Italian Ministry of Interior in Naples.
Diego Gitano holds a BA in International Relations and an MA in Asian and African Relations and Institutions from the University of Naples “L’Orientale” where he majored in Arabic-Islamic Studies. He was awarded a one-year scholarship to study advanced Arabic and Islamic law at Kuwait University. He also holds a postgraduate MA in Security and Intelligence from the Link Campus University of Rome, a Diploma in Multicultural Counselling, and an MA in Clinical Psychology.
