With the death of Jacques Delors, Europe loses one of its last great architects

Our Honorary Member Jacques Delors, who has passed away at the age of 98, will be remembered as one of the most talented and visionary figures of post-World War II Europe. He was and will be remembered as a man of vision and decisiveness who led the continent’s most significant transformation. Delors believed in a Europe built on “competition that stimulates, cooperation that strengthens and solidarity that unites.” His firm belief in the unity of the EU inspires and endures.

Club de Madrid and its Members mourn his loss and send their condolences to his friends and family. His vision still guides us today.
