Office of the Presidential Advisory Office for Youth of Colombia Consultant for International Cooperation and Alliances with Private Companies in the Presidential Advisory Office for Youth of Colombia, Laura Florez has articulated the actions for youth of the government program “Colombia World Power of Life” with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. With this objective, she coordinates with the Pacific Alliance for the construction and development of the international volunteer “Weaving Agroecologies for Peace” and the “Digital Innovation Laboratory for Entrepreneurship”. Adding efforts to build the Total Peace in Colombia, she works on the strategy and alliances for co-responsibility and the outputs of the national programs of “Youth in Peace” and “Spokespersons for Peace”. It also articulates the youth of the Colombian diaspora in the construction of the Public Youth Policy.
During her work as a political advisor in the congress for the international seat of the House of Representatives, she worked to solve the needs of Colombian migration abroad, carrying out actions such as monitoring the implementation of the migration policy and increasing the participation of the diaspora in national politics, by coordinating together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the 42 binding dialogues for the National Development Plan in the 5 continents. Likewise, she organized the “First Forum of Colombian Migration in the Colombian Congress”.
Laura was coordinator and co-founder of the Colombia Humana Germany node, the Feminist and Plebeian node of Human Colombia and the International Historical Pact, for which she carried out the management, strategy and political marketing in the construction of the party and the coalition of the International Historical Pact. To provide international support to Colombia and the defense of human rights, he worked as a peace activist in different countries of Latin America and Europe, where he was linked to Colombian migrants and the Historical Pact throughout the world.
In addition to her social and political work, Laura is a researcher, has a PhD in immunology, specialized in biomedicine, biotechnologies, molecular biology and genetic engineering with 6 years of research experience in public universities and institutes in France and Germany, where she also had experience in team management and projects for the treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancer.
