Roots and Routes: A conversation with Helen Clark and Asanda Luwaca | International Women’s Day 2024

On International Women’s Day, Club de Madrid celebrates the vital role of women in global leadership. Our Members include pioneering women whose contributions have blazed new trails in politics and society.

These leaders have not only broken barriers, but have also served as role models for younger women who are now charting their own path in global leadership.

We recognize that each achievement of these trailblazers is not only a personal milestone, but also a torch that lights the way for future leaders. At Club de Madrid, we pledge to continue to support and promote this virtuous cycle of female empowerment and leadership.

Though we have made significant progress, the struggle continues. It is essential to promote gender equality and ensure that more women achieve positions of power. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to support and empower current and future women leaders, recognizing that a more equal world is a better world for all.

For this reason we have brought together two women who are very close to Club de Madrid to have an international conversation in which they exchange reflections, experiences and demands.

Our Member Helen Clark and our participant of the Network of Young Decision-Makers Asanda Luwaca have had a conversation on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024 in which they discuss the situation of women in the world, what progress has been made and, above all, what remains to be done.
