Four female world leaders call to action towards gender equaility on #IWD2018

Our President, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, (Latvia), and Members Joyce Banda (Malawi) and Kim Campbell (Canada) Helen Clark (New Zealand), are four women that have led their countries and are still playing a relevant role in the international sphere. On the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2018 (#IWD2018), they all speak out their minds with special messages for our website, making clear calls to action for equal rights for all men and women in the world.

Former President of Latvia, Vike-Freiberga, makes a reminder of the injustices women are still facing in every part of the world and call every girl and women “to stay strong and beautiful and follow fearlessly the path that each of you have chosen as your own!”. Read here her full statement  

Joyce Banda, former President of Malawi, focusses on women leadership and the importance of having more women into decision-making positions.

Ex Prime Minister of Canada, Kim Campbell, explains why an International Women’s Day is still needed and highlights the benefits of including women in all sectors of our societies from politics to the judiciary, from the schools to the hospitals.

Last but not least, Helen Clark, former PM of New Zealand reviews the situation of global gender equality and makes a strong call to action and  “support the wold’s women to have equal opportunities and equal human rights everywhere in the world”
