President Wim Kok and Secretary General Westendorp represented the organization as speakers, sharing recommendations of our G20 Initiative in the following sessions:
- ‘The Aftermath of the Euro-zone Crisis: Building the Macroeconomic and Political Entity in the EU’ (Wim Kok)
- ‘Dialogue of Leaders: New Financial Economic Policy’ (Wim Kok)
- ‘Opportunities and Challenges of Economic Integration? (Carlos Westendorp)
Our representatives had the opportunity to meet both with the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and with the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr.
Kairat Kelimbetov. They showed interest in collaborating more closely with the Club de Madrid and proposals are under way. Members will be informed of any developments in this regard.
Members Aho, Gusenbauer, Koehler, Kwasniewski and Prodi also participated in this important Forum in their own personal capacities.
