During this meeting PM Guterres engaged in deep discussion with our other Members on the refugee situation world- wide with particular focus on the situation in MENA and Europe. Both organizations expressed an interest in identifying a joint activity for 2012 to explore immigration policies and future trends. Today, on the world refugee day, the Club of Madrid wishes to call attention to the important challenges that increasingly will have to be faced and the important democratic values on which any response has to be based.
